Angelica Valdez

Program Manager

Angelica has dedicated her life to serving the San Luis Valley by preparing first-generation and low-income students to complete a college degree. Like her students, Angelica was first-generation and low-income and was the first in her family to finish high school, and receive undergraduate and graduate degrees. Angelica is a leader in her field, training TRIO grant personnel in the areas of federal regulations and grants compliance across the nation. She continues to assist her community by advising on various boards and assisting in the writing of various successful grants. Angelica has special interests in emotional intelligence in management and cultural inclusion in education. She is continuously invigorated to help her community using the guidance and tools that helped pave her educational path. Aside from her professional position, Angelica works daily at home with the family farm and ranch operation.
