Event Sponsorships
As a grantmaking foundation, The Colorado Trust sets aside a limited amount of funding each year to respond to requests from Colorado nonprofit organizations to help sponsor fundraising and other special events that support their work.
To be eligible, your organization must have an active 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax status, be based in Colorado or have an active Colorado chapter, and be registered as a charity with the Colorado Secretary of State. Additionally, the event for which you seek sponsorship must align with The Colorado Trust’s health equity vision. The Colorado Trust may also consider sponsorship requests that support the state’s philanthropic sector.
Sponsorships are limited to one per organization per calendar year. Events considered for sponsorship can be in person or virtual/online. Requests will be considered individually, including level of funding, up to a maximum of $5,000 per sponsorship. In 2024, the average sponsorship awarded was approximately $2,000.
The Colorado Trust does not sponsor political campaigns, lobbying activities or voter registration drives. Sponsorships to entities that are not a 501(c)(3) and to individuals cannot be considered.
Sponsorship Request Process
We are accepting event sponsorship applications for events taking place in 2025. Please submit sponsorship requests via our online application and note that we will only review applications for events that fall within the time frames specified below. Event sponsorship request deadlines and notification dates are as follows:
Events taking place in January and February 2025
- Apply by Oct. 15, 2024
- Notified on or around Nov. 15, 2024
Events taking place in March and April 2025
- Apply by Jan. 2, 2025
- Notified on or around Feb. 1, 2025
Events taking place in May and June 2025
- Apply by March 1, 2025
- Notified on or around April 1, 2025
Events taking place in July and August 2025
- Apply by May 1, 2025
- Notified on or around June 1, 2025
Events taking place in September and October 2025
- Apply by July 1, 2025
- Notified on or around Aug. 1, 2025
Events taking place in November and December 2025
- Apply by Sept. 1, 2025
- Notified on or around Oct. 1, 2025
NOTE:
- Starting with events taking place in March and April of 2025, we have changed our event sponsorship application schedule. We have increased the number of application cycles from three to six per year to give applicants more time to apply for an event sponsorship. If you applied for an event sponsorship in previous years, please carefully review the new schedule above.
You will receive an email notification when a decision is made regarding your application. Your organization’s tax ID number must be included in your application. Incomplete information may result in your sponsorship request being denied.
