The Colorado Trust Commits $250,000 to the Colorado Fire Relief Fund 2012

DENVER, COLO.—Severe drought conditions and record high temperatures in June sparked devastating fires across Colorado. The fires destroyed precious homes and lands, displaced thousands of families, shut down businesses and interrupted vital services in communities across the state. To assist in response and recovery efforts, The Colorado Trust today announced it is providing a $250,000 grant to the Colorado Fire Relief Fund 2012 (CFRF).

“The scale and size of the wildfires were unprecedented and have significantly challenged the health and well-being of Coloradans,” said Ned Calonge, MD, MPH, President and CEO of The Colorado Trust. “Recovery will take time, and The Colorado Trust is proud to join together with others in supporting these long-term and much-needed relief efforts.”

Created by the Colorado Governor’s Office, the CFRF 2012 is being administered by The Denver Foundation, together with other community foundations from affected areas to distribute funds to address intermediate needs resulting from the wildfires.
